And after a bit of shopping in the hotel tienda, we're off to Los Barriles by 8 a.m. driving through verdant verdant cliffs and crimson blooms sprung from vines twisting up cardon cacti. It's 23 C and looking more tropical than desert with free standing water in the ditches. We pass through Constitution at 10 a.m. with new, highly visible stop signs. It is possible to get a ticket quite easily on the highway that passess through this town. There are no over passes - just a careful cumbia down the road until we're out of town. If you are alert, metric savvy, obey the traffic signs (and therefore avoid attracting the attention of the local policia) - it's a breeze. We are past sunny (28 C), windy La Paz by 1:30 p.m., then pretty San Bartolo at 2:30 and finally backing into our site with a grand welcome from our RV park friends at 3:15 p.m.
We made it safe and sound and it's all over, except for several days of setting up our living arrangements. It's kind of like when the circus comes to town, except we have more stuff.
