sandwishes

Vida spends a lot of her time on her beach walks snorkelling through the tide line for bits of aromatic seafood, but what she likes best is a bit of fried egg. The eggs we buy here are especially tasty and made delicious fried egg, Dijon and arugula sandwiches for Sunday lunch.

Earlier this morning, Michael spied this fox sunning itself in the tent area just past our trailer. With all the birds busy in the trees around us, maybe the fox dreams of eggs, too. The egg-bird-dog cycle is completed as Michael sets out the collection of hair that Vida sheds for the endemic grey thrashers who in turn collect it for their nests.

It was a calm day, so Michael put on the mountain-biking armour and headed out for some fun in the hills of granite & cactus in the hills behind Los Barriles. I rode the other way, sans armour, out past the Buena Vista and San Bartolo arroyos and to the East Cape Arts annual Asociación de Artes Colina del Sol Art Show and returned with mango chutney, German chocolate cake and a silver & lava stone bracelet from Atemba, a Baja company making jewellery from local beach stone.
