flying with Rosa

Rosa is 49 years old and flies to Baja every year. She's a rare Cessna 205 and she is beautiful. She's lovingly maintained and expertly flown by her American owner. He took we 2 Canadians  and our Vela cohorts who hail from Poland, Greece and Holland flying today.

We drove north on the beach road to the airstrip at Punta Pescadero, then flew southward along the coast past the beaches and landscapes of Los Barriles, Buena Vista, La Ribera, Lighthouse Point, Cabo Pulmo and Los Frailes.
Punta Pescadero

South Los Barriles, our sail palapa is just right of the 2 docks on the beach. Our campground is to the east of the triple story hotel beyond the sail palapa.
I saw my first hammerhead shark as we flew over these waters.
Approaching Cabo Pulmo, known as the only living reef in the Sea of Cortez.
More mountain biking trails to explore.

Punta Pescadero landing strip- 3,335 x 60 ft (1,017 x 18 m) — paved — not lighted.

We then turned northward and made the return flight, zipping through the valleys north of Los Barriles and waggling Rosa's wing tips for the folks on the Beach at the Vela site. Thanks for a super cool and super smooth flight Rosa!
