We headed back to Cabo San Lucas with our good friends H & D to pick up the bike rim and check out the end of the peninsula, because in our trips to Baja, we had never managed to get to the marina area, ground zero for all the tourist action in
Cabo.

The it was off to the harbour for a stroll around the marina. There are many, many restaurants, shops, and vendors all calling for customers. There are many working boats for hire (fishing, snorkelling, and glass bottom boat tours reaching around the point land from the Sea of Cortez to the Pacific Ocean). There are luxury yachts and sailing ships from ports of call around the world, all supported by a massive luxury mall serving tourists and cruise ships. There are also many hard working people meeting all requests quickly.
We walked around the marina taking in all the sights until we reached the end of the dock and the entrance to the sea. The farther we walked, the less expensive the prices for trinkets and tours became.
Although a nearly 1000 lb marlin was caught here the later in the day, and catch and release fishing is gathering favour in Baja, there were a lot of small marlin wheeled in large plastic garbage cans to a ramp at the end of the dock. The fisherman's cooperative works together to organize the fishing trips, process the fish and then help customers to have fish packaged or cooked by a restaurant along the marina.

Although it looked like we could walk no further, one of the fisherman asked us if we were looking for the beach and then gave us very good directions and we were on our way to the end of the peninsula on foot, on beautiful beaches with perfectly golden sand and wonderful views. Just us an hundreds of other tourists with the same idea!

We climbed up and over the many fantastical geological formations on our way to the end and enjoyed some of the warmest, cloud free weather of the season. Although the terrain looks rugged, it is bare feet friendly.

We wound our way back to the marina and found a spot to have lunch, a cold drink and gaze upon the "eco-friendly" AIR mega yacht by
Lurssen, complete with helicopter that can be rented for $750,000 USD/week. Then we made a visit to the
Puerto Paraiso Shopping Mall at the marina's entrance and finished the tour off with a luxurious Hagen Daas mango sherbet for only $8/person!
